Creating an Information Management Strategy, Procedures and Taxonomy
A Global Oil & Gas Major was struggling to ensure that projects were delivered to a single data standard across the various global business units. As they traversed their digital roadmap, they found that not only were they unable to leverage the true power of their newer digital solutions, but the lack of standard was resulting in increased projects costs.
Our consultant built out a new Capital Projects strategy and resulting process and procedure for managing the data requirements, approvals and quality throughout the capital project lifecycle. This included reviewing and advising on the new data taxonomy being implemented, offering insights based on the global requirements.Â
A suite of standards and governance were produced  by our consultant and implemented across all global capital projects, accepted by all regions.
All global regions signed up to a single data standard, allowing the client to realise the value of their digital solutions.
Suppliers, who delivered global services, had a single standard and governance procedure to follow, reducing rework and conflict.
A reduction in rework led to reduced costs, as well as a reduction in ongoing OPEX from improved data quality.
